Insurance comes in a multitude of different forms. Examples include commercial and product liability insurance, insurance of persons, property insurance, all-risk insurance, comprehensive insurance, hull and machinery insurance, transport and travel insurance. Given the many different products and instruments, insurance disputes are quite frequent, typically arising over questions of coverage. We have represented companies in the insurance industry in a number of large, complex actions raising questions of legal principle in all significant areas of insurance law.
We represented, among others:
- a large Canadian insurance company in arbitration proceedings over the sale of a Danish insurance company (2020)
- a Danish insurance company in a Supreme Court action over double insurance (2017)
- an air transport insurance company in a Supreme Court action over the insured’s repayment of compensation due to gross negligence (2015).
