Morten provides specialist advice on all aspects of Danish and EU competition law, including cross-border merger procedures, international cartel investigations, abuse of dominance, distribution strategies, civil damages actions, compliance programmes, and state aid issues.
Morten has extensive experience in obtaining merger control approval from the European Commission and the Danish Competition and Consumer Authority, including in complex Phase I and Phase II merger reviews. He has also been engaged in international and global cartel investigations such as the "Airfreight and "Power Cables" investigations.
Furthermore, Morten has a particular flair for predicting and understanding the stance taken by the competition authorities, and for finding solutions to accommodate their concerns. He excels in handling delicate matters that require manoeuvring with diplomacy and tact - such as, for example, internal investigations in difficult cartel cases. In such matters, he works with the management to select the right strategy, approach and process to secure the best possible outcome.
Finally, Morten is often the preferred counsel to represent leading Danish companies in abuse cases and has litigated landmark cases before the courts in Denmark and at EU level in Luxembourg, including the SAS/Maersk Air case.
