Andel enters 2 GWp Joint Venture with Better Energy

We are proud to have advised Andel on their 50/50 joint venture with Better Energy. This ambitious initiative, spanning from 2024 to 2028, is set to significantly enhance Denmark's renewable energy landscape by aiming to establish 15 solar energy parks across Denmark. The parks are collectively projected to reach a capacity of approximately 2 GWp, aligning with the energy consumption of about 1.3 million Danes.

The project's first phase includes constructing four major solar parks in various Danish municipalities, scheduled to start constructions between this year and 2025. These initial parks are anticipated to provide a capacity of approximately 750 MWp, which aligns with the annual electricity requirements of around 490,000 Danes. If all 15 projects are established, the total portfolio is expected to be fully operational by the end of 2027, with the collective capacity reaching around 2 GWp.

This partnership not only focuses on energy production but also encompasses joint ambitions for energy storage, along with initiatives to promote nature and biodiversity conservation.

This deal represents a crucial step forward in achieving Denmark's climate objectives and aligns with Andel's strategy to expand its capacity for renewable energy production.
