Kromann Reumert contributes to article on Scandinavian export control

In cooperation with Managing Associate Hugo Munthe-Kaas of Thommessen (Norway) and Adjunct Professor of Law/Manager Erik Lagerlöf of Vinge (Sweden), Kromann Reumert's practice group for international trade has contributed to an article on Scandinavian export control legislation and enforcement, published in the latest issue of the world-leading magazine on export control, WorldECR.

The article provides an overview of the national regimes and current export control trends in Denmark, Norway and Sweden. These recent trends underline the need for companies operating in the Nordic region to implement and follow proper procedures to mitigate the risk of non-compliance with relevant national and international export control legislation.

If a Danish company or person violates international sanctions or export control rules, this may be punishable by fines or imprisonment under sections 110c and 114h, respectively, of the Danish Criminal Code. In addition, any profit derived from such violation may be confiscated, and non-compliance can result in significant negative publicity and associated loss of image.
