The cases are the result of the Danish Competition and Consumer Authority’s bid rigging investigations in the plumbing sector. The investigations started in 2015 following a tip and resulted in notification of the State Prosecutor for Serious Economic and International Crime with a view to criminal prosecution.

The cases involve bid rigging in connection with building contracts. Christoffersen & Knudsen A/S pleaded guilty as charged and accepted the fine of DKK 575,000.

Three management employees of Christoffersen & Knudsen A/S, Fredensborg VVS-Teknik A/S and Sanoterm Danmark A/S (which has now gone bankrupt) also pleaded guilty and each paid a personal fine of DKK 25,000.

In one of the other cases, Fredensborg VVS-Teknik A/S accepted a fine of DKK 1,000,000 in the summer of 2017.
