Thomas Andersen advises on economic matters relating to competition law, particularly cases concerning abuse of dominant position and merger cases.

Thomas' assistance includes anything from minor analyses for use in preliminary assessments to large analyses in cases pending before regulatory authorities or courts of law. Such analyses may address prices and discounts of dominant undertakings, or the competitive effects of transactions in connection with merger control.

In addition, Thomas has experience in compliance matters relating to competition law and economic analyses for use in actions for damages. He is engaged e.g. in the quantification of overcharges and the passing-on thereof.

Thomas has previously been employed with the Danish Competition and Consumer Authority for several years, working in the Chief Economist' Team on a number of the Authority's competition cases and assisting in the Authority's market analyses.

  • Widex's merger with Sivantos (into WS Audiology) (2018-2019)
  • CRH Danmark's acquisition of RC Beton (2019)
  • Haldor Topsøe Holding's divestment of a minority shareholding in  Haldor Topsøe to Temasek (2019)
  • Ørsted's divestment of its Danish power distribution, residential customer, and City Light businesses (2019-2020)
  • Mitsubishi Heavy Industries' sale of shares in MHI-Vestas Offshore Wind to Vestas (2020) 
  • Competition case before the Danish Maritime and Commercial High Court concerning a claim for damages of approx. DKK 250 million (2021).
