Practice areas

Martin advises on all aspects of real estate, with a particular emphasis on construction law, commercial lease law, project development, and the sale and purchase of real estate.

Having worked extensively with real estate and construction for 20 years, Martin stands out for his deep insight into the business. A substantial part of his practice is devoted to commercial lease law, with clients seeking his advice on lease agreements, rent adjustment, assignment, subletting, termination, and claims for the vacation and renovation of leased premises. He also specialises in the transfer and project development of real estate, advising on i.a. contracts, public law regulation, changes to local development plans, and expansion agreements.

He is particularly knowledgeable in the legal aspects of construction, advising on i.a. the negotiation of contracts and the handling of disputes during construction, i.a. in the forms of expert opinions, mediation and arbitration. In recent years he has advised several employers on the completion of large-scale and complex construction projects.

He also frequently advises on a number of niche areas such as expropriation law, cable law (road law and the ‘guest pays’ principle), adjoining properties, dividing of owner-occupied flats, and parcellations.

Over the years, Martin has acted in many court cases and arbitrations concerning real estate matters, including before the Danish Building and Construction Arbitration Board.

He enjoys sharing knowledge and experience with others, e.g. through Kromann Reumert’s newsletters. He also regularly helps our other specialists on questions about real estate and environmental law in relation to transfers of undertakings.

Martin delivers solution-oriented advice in close cooperation with each client.
