Kristine Elmo Kyndesen advises Danish and foreign clients from various sectors on a wide range of data protection issues.

By way of example, Kristine has provided advice on the handling of personal data breaches and has assisted clients with complaints to the Danish Data Protection Agency.  She has also assisted in preparing impact assessments and in securing the legal data protection framework for new regulatory functions, for example as a result of relocation or merging of regulatory functions.

In addition, Kristine has solid experience with M&A transactions from a data protection law perspective, and she advises on the design of IT systems and the use of AI. She has assisted clients with assessments of localisation requirements for IT systems in relation to national security, and has conducted employee training.

Kristine has also completed a wide range of compliance projects, including mapping of processing activities, drafting of reports, compliance documents and implementation of specific compliance initiatives. She has considerable experience in drafting compliance documents such as policies, guidelines, framework tools, and in negotiating data processor agreements.

Kristine's background at the intersection of the public and financial sectors is reflected in her advice. She demonstrates considerable commercial understanding and strives to add commercial value while meeting regulatory requirements.

Given her background, Kristine has a unique insight into the interplay between the GDPR and sector-specific regulation. This insight is combined with a deep understanding of the often essential public service functions that organisations have been entrusted with, and she has extensive experience of the challenges associated with those functions. Her knowledge of organisations and their work, operations, internal processes and external client considerations has given her a special insight into the method of finding solutions in this often complex interplay between the GDPR and sector-specific regulation.
