Time for Renewal of UK Cross-Border Licenses in Denmark
Since Brexit, UK investment firms and credit institutions have been offered the opportunity to obtain and operate on a cross-border license. It is now time to renew any such license.
The Danish Financial Supervisory Authority encourages UK investment firms and credit institutions to apply for renewal of their Brexit conditional and temporary license before 15 April 2022 to ensure that the Danish Financial Supervisory Authority is able to assess the application before expiry of the license on 30 June 2022.
In addition, the Danish Financial Supervisory Authority has established an application form regarding the Danish third-country cross-border investment services and activities license. The form must be used when applying for renewal of a conditional and temporary license granted to a UK credit institution or investment firm in light of Brexit.
If investment firms and credit institutions do not renew their cross-border license, they will no longer be entitled to provide services in Denmark following 30 June 2022.
