Konges Sløjd fined DKK 1.8m for resale price maintenance

Konges Sløjd ApS has accepted a fixed penalty notice in the amount of DKK 1.8 million for resale price maintenance in breach of the Danish Competition Act. Also, a senior employee has accepted a personal fine of DKK 100,000.

Konges Sløjd manufactures clothes, furniture, and other products for children. The case concerns an infringement which took place in the period from late 2018 to early 2020, when Konges Sløjd tried to keep a distributor from lowering the recommended resale price of the company’s products.

The Danish Competition and Consumer Authority became aware of the matter following a contact about it. Following its own initial investigation, the Authority referred the matter to the Danish State Prosecutor for Serious Economic and International Crime. Konges Sløjd and the senior employee accepted the fines, and the case is therefore closed.
